Hole 1

Blue

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 317 m

White

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 304 m

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 286 m

The first hole is a par 4 dog leg right requiring an accurate drive to a narrow landing area between two fairways bunkers. Your shot into the green is protected by a bunker and grassy shapes that will test your accuracy. The green is split into 3 levels providing many challenging pin positions and an introduction to the golf in front of you at Emerald Lakes.

Safe Play: Lay up short of the fairway bunkers with a long iron off the tee, you will then have a mid to short iron into the green.

Aggressive Play: Hit driver over the right fairway bunker towards the green leaving you a short wedge shot and a good chance at birdie.

Hole 2

Blue

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 440 m

White

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 428 m

Red

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 397 m

The second hole is a short par 5 with OB on the left for the entire hole. Fairway bunkers will test your confidence and distance off the tee. It is generously open from here to the green. The shot into the green is tight and is guarded by a dominant bunker at the front and grassy slopes around most of the green. Good placement on this hole can set you up for an easy birdie.

Safe Play: Take a long iron or utility wood from the tee to avoid the fairway bunkers on the left, from here you can lay up to a wide fairway leaving a short approach to a large green.

Aggressive Play: Hit over or right of the fairway bunker with driver, then take aim at the green to set up a chance at eagle.

  • Distance: 171 m

White

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 150 m

Red

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 134 m

The third is a long par 3 with a lake down the left and two green side bunkers that will challenge most golfers. The green is tiered and although fairly open at the front, the back pin position will require one of the toughest shots in golf. Par is a good score on this hole.

Safe Play:  Hit to the middle of the green and 2 putt for par.

Hole 4

Blue

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 447 m

White

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 427 m

Red

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 398 m

An accurate drive is required for the fourth hole which is a tight par 5 with water along the right and trees along the left. The decision from here will be either to lay up to a wide landing zone short of the lake, or take on the lake and bunkers which guard this challenging three tier green. Water is the dominant feature on this hole so play it safe if you want the best chance to make par.

Safe Play: Keep your tee off down the left side of the fairway away from the water, then lay up to 100 meters out, leaving yourself with a short shot into a large green.

Aggressive Play: Hit driver straight down the fairway, which will leave you a chance to go for the green with your second shot, hit across the water and miss the bunkers to set up a chance at eagle.

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 134 m

White

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 123 m

Red

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 99 m

The fifth is a short par 3 with a narrow creek running across the front of a undulating green. Bunkers are located front left and one behind the green. Errant tee shots will see you faced with challenging chip and putt for par.

This short par 3 is a birdie hole, attack the pin and make the putt.

Hole 6

Blue

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 451 m

White

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 438 m

Red

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 413 m

The sixth is another narrow and long par 5. Off the Tee water guards the right side of the hole with bunkers and OB down the left. Once in play the second shot is equally dangerous with large lakes and a creek framing both sides into the green. If you negotiate the first two shots safely you will have a short iron in to a deep undulating green protected by bunkers front and left as well as gullies and water close on the right.

Safe Play: Lay up short of the fairway bunkers on the left, from here you can lay up to the largest part of the fairway leaving you with a short iron into this large green.

Aggressive Play: Hit driver just right of the second fairway bunker, go for the green with your second shot, anywhere on or around this large green should make for an easy birdie.

Hole 7

Blue

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 376 m

White

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 358 m

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 335 m

The seventh hole is a good strong par 4. Fairway bunkers and water up the right force you to play out to the left. It is important to be straight off the tee setting up your approach shot to a raised green that is flagged with bunkers to the left and front of the green.

Safe Play: Play down the left of this tough par 4 with a long iron or utility wood, when approaching the green note that the green slopes front to back and your ball will run out more than normal.

Aggressive Play: Hitting a very accurate driver over the left edge of the fairway bunker will leave you only a short iron or wedge for your second shot, setting up a good chance at birdie.

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 134 m

White

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 121 m

Red

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 101 m

The eighth is a short par 3 and an accurate tee shot is required. With deep bunkers at the front and rear of this elevated green, a stray shot will see you faced with a tough recovery up a steep embankment to some tight pin positions.

The 8th is another good chance at birdie. Pick your iron, trust the distance and attack the pin.

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 294 m

White

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 277 m

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 259 m

The ninth is a birdie hole! A short par 4 with trees and OB along the left, the two tier green is surrounded by bunkers at the front and on both the left and right sides. Play this one down the right hand side for best access into the green.

Safe Play: You don’t need distance on this hole just accuracy. Play down the fairway and then play to the middle right of the green to make an easy par.

Aggressive Play:  Long hitters can reach this green in one shot, Attack this short par 4 with driver and get up and down for birdie.

Hole 10

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 305 m

White

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 288 m

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 264 m

The tenth hole is strategic par 4 that can be played well or terribly should you miss place your tee shot. A fairway bunker on the right side with plenty of trees lining both sides of the fairway. The green approach is intimidating with two bunkers guarding the front creating a narrow entrance to an undulating green. With a water hazard to the rear you need to be accurate with your approach. This hole maybe short but you can leave you disappointed if you get into trouble.

Safe Play: Lay up short of the small fairway bunker on the right, to make for a simple short iron into a well bunkered green.

Aggressive Play: Hitting a very accurate driver left of or over the fairway bunker on the right will set you up with a small pitch shot and a chance for another birdie.

Hole 11

Blue

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 338 m

White

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 284 m

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 272 m

The eleventh hole is a narrow straight par 4. A waterway runs adjacent to the hole down the right hand side. Bunkers at the front and right of the green guard the difficult three tier green which can provide some testing two putts. Being straight is the key to a par on this hole.

Safe Play: Play to the left of the fairway with a ijlong iron or utility wood, this green can be very tricky so just play to the middle and 2 putt for par.

Aggressive Play: Hit driver off the tee, the fairway will feed your ball closer to the green, setting you up with only a wedge left, which will help you stop your approach shot quickly on this tricky tiered green.

Hole 12

Blue

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 491 m

White

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 469 m

Red

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 443 m

Hole twelve is a par 5 with a dramatic dog leg that requires an accurate tee shot if you want to reach this green in regulation. Thick trees line both sides of the hole off the tee. With a good tee shot, the second shot requires you to carry a creek to a generous fairway that reveals a challenging green. Par or under is a very good result on this hole.

Safe Play: Layup safely to the heart of the fairway with a long iron. When playing your second shot over the water, take another long iron and hit short of the large fairway bunker this will leave you a short iron or wedge into a very large and open green.

Aggressive Play: Hit your tee shot as close as you can to the corner before the water, setting you up for a chance to go for the green with your second shot. Aim straight at the green and hit your 3 wood over the fairway bunker to set up a birdie chance on this long par 5.

Hole 13

Blue

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 132 m

White

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 122 m

Red

  • Par: 3
  • Distance: 116 m

The thirteenth, par 3 requires a short to mid iron off the tee. Water on the right and two bunkers pinching the green, an accurate tee shot may save you some frustration. The green is divided by a strong ridge and sits up in the back left corner to create some very challenging pin positions. A good par 3 that will test your ability.

Attack the pin on this par 3 while being cautious not to hit into one of the bunkers, as an easy par could turn into an easy bogey.

Hole 14

Blue

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 471 m

White

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 446 m

Red

  • Par: 5
  • Distance: 415 m

As one of our signature holes this par 5 is long and challenging but can be very rewarding if played right. Your tee shot will be tested by the large lake on the left which stretches the entire length of the golf hole. The right side is fenced by dense trees that come into play when trying to avoid water. A tough green that slopes away from you and is protected by two deep bunkers makes this hole one of the most scenic and challenging holes to play.

Safe Play: Take a long iron or utility wood up to the largest part of the fairway, from here the fairway gets very narrow so layup with a middle iron to set up only a short iron to a well bunkered green.

Aggressive Play: Hit an accurate driver just right of centre of the fairway. If you are confident hitting over water and bunkers take aim at the green and don’t look back, anywhere on or around the green is a great chance at birdie on this long par 5.

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 367 m

  • Distance: 346 m

Red

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 328 m

The fifteenth is a straight par 4 with OB on the left and trees along the right. One of the widest fairways on the course once you have passed some of the largest trees that reach out for any balls that are left. The only bunker on this hole sits at the front left of the green and protects the toughest  pin positions on this green. A tough par 4 that will test your accuracy.

Safe Play: Accuracy is key on the tee off, play safely down the centre of the fairway with a utility wood to leave a middle iron to a narrow green. A par is a good score on this tough par 4.

Aggressive Play: Hitting a very accurate driver down this fairway will leave you only a short iron or wedge into the green, setting up an easy par or even a birdie.

  • Distance: 385 m

The sixteenth hole is a long par 4 with trees along the left and a large fairway bunker on the right. You will have a mid to long iron left into a narrow undulating green guarded by a bunker to the right and a grass hollows to the left. With the green sloping away from the right hand bunker, make sure you hit the green on Emerald Lakes toughest golf hole.

Safe Play: Play towards the right side of the fairway when teeing off to give yourself a good line in for your approach shot. Play a long to middle iron for your second shot to the left centre of the green and two putt for par.

Aggressive Play: With a very accurate driver straight down the fairway you will be left with only a mid to short iron into a narrow green.

The seventeenth is our longest par 3 and challenges a strong finish from any golfer. This hole requires a long iron or wood to reach the undulating green that is supported by two bunkers on the right side and grassy shapes on the left. The seventeenth is certainly the hardest par 3 at Emerald Lakes and achieving Par on this hole will be a job well done.

Play it safe on this long par 3, hit towards the left side of the green which will put you in good position to make par.

  • Distance: 356 m

White

  • Par: 4
  • Distance: 338 m

Heading home with the clubhouse in the distance, the eighteenth is a challenging par 4. Water introduced off the tee and a fairway bunker on the right, framed with trees on the left, your position on this generous fairway is important to have the best shot into the green. Safe Play: Tee off with a fairway wood down the right hand side of the fairway, from this angle it will open up the green, you can hit a middle iron to the right side on the green away from the bunkers on the left and two putt for par.

Aggressive Play: Teeing off with driver down the left side of the fairway will leave you only a short iron or wedge into the green, attack the pin with your approach shot and make your birdie putt.
